Wallice: Supporting JAWNY

Wallice

Baby’s All Right (Brooklyn, NYC)
03/29/23

Wallice gave a stunning performance as the opening act for JAWNY’s first of two sold-out shows at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Opening with “90s American Superstar,” Wallice and her band members set an electrifying vibe for the rest of the night. Her interactions with the crowd were charming and genuine, making it known that she was grateful to be performing for us. Due to the luminance and size of the venue, which has a capacity of 280, the room was extremely intimate, creating a unique experience that makes you feel seen by the artists.

Her notoriously dreamy voice and relatable songwriting had the audience in a trance. The crowd got to hear her unreleased single, “Best Friend,” and we all swayed along to her ethereal voice and guitar-driven sound. She proclaimed “Funeral” as her favorite song of hers, a perspective that is super insightful to hear from an artist. To end her set, she played her two biggest hits, “Punching Bag” and “23,” which had people jumping and scream-singing along.

Wallice is undeniably a force to be reckoned with in the indie-rock scene, and her performance at Baby’s All Right was a reflection of just that. She took time after her set to chat with fans, including myself. With her upcoming tour opening for The 1975 and more new music on the horizon, it’s safe to say that the best for Wallice is yet to come.
