The National (Richmond, VA)
10/31/23

Dreamy indie-pop band Tennis brought the second leg of their “Pollen” tour to Richmond, Virginia for a packed show at The National. The tour is in support of their 2023 album, Pollen, which is a beautiful and ethereal 10-song project. The album is clearly loved by many as the band extended their tour for even more dates.

Vocalist Alaina Moore performed at her piano for the first few songs before moving to a smaller keyboard and eventually moving around stage with just the mic in her hand. Using a projector, the band had the ability to display unique images and videos specific to each of their songs. Most of these designs were groovy and dreamy, fitting the vibe of their music. Tennis performed plenty of songs from Pollen as well as their previous albums before heading off stage. The crowd chanted for the band to play a few more songs, prompting the band to perform “I’ll Haunt You” from their 2020 album, Swimmer, along with “Glorietta” from Pollen.
