Ascend Amphitheater (Nashville, TN)
07/23/23
Emo pop-punk festival, Sad Summer Festival, came to Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater on July 23rd with an energetic group of performances. From rising bands to pop-punk staples, the festival brings a packed roster of incredible music to each city.
With a new wave of pop-punk, CLIFFDIVER from Tulsa, Oklahoma started off the day with their unique energy, even bringing some saxophone into their performance. From Australia, Stand Atlantic followed with their energy that never fails. A handful of the artists could be found disguised in giant teddy bear costumes, running around the festival meeting and taking pictures with fans. Throughout the festival, there were various vendors with activities, photo booths, and prizes.
Rising pop singer Charlotte Sands appeared with beloved alternative band PVRIS and The Maine – it was inspiring to see so many women-fronted bands at a festival. The night ended with rock legends Motion City Soundtrack and Taking Back Sunday closing out the event. The lineup continues to impress us each and every year, and we’re already ready for next year’s festival.
