South Side Music Hall (Dallas, TX)
05/30/23
Alternative U.K. band Palace kicked off their North American tour with a bang at Dallas’ own South Side Music Hall. With openers Darling Farm and the Human Barbie preceding Palace on the bill, the audience was in for a night full of fantastic music.
When the members of Palace joined the stage, the crowd roared. For songs “All We’ve Ever Wanted” and “So Long Forever,” the band was bathed in a red light, moving like glowing embers across the stage. Halfway through Palace’s set, the band’s lead singer, Leo Wyndham, traded his electric guitar for an acoustic and performed a cover of “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star. A singular spotlight shone on him and lovers swayed.
Wyndham’s electric guitar was returned and once he began playing, the energy shifted from one of intimacy to one of passionate intensity. Palace finished off the night with “Live Well,” the crowd exchanging smiles and singing along as the band beamed throughout their final song of the night.
