Egyptian Room at Old National Center (Indianapolis, IN)
09/26/23
Indie-pop band MisterWives performed in Indianapolis, Indiana on their “Don’t Look Down” tour. With support from Bishop Briggs, the iconic Egyptian Room was packed for a night full of energy. Front woman Mandy Leed pranced around the stage in a ribbon doused costume, and the crowd was mesmerized by her every movement. The headlining tour had a massive production – from stage platforms to a dazzling light show, each song on the MisterWives setlist felt as though it had its own little life.
The band opened the set with “Out Of Your Mind,” the first single from their newest album, Nosebleeds. Mandy, with her booming vocals, sang from atop a platform that nearly reached the venue ceiling. She made the stage her home as the band played through the set. They played most of the songs from Nosebleeds, occasionally bouncing back to tunes from their 2020 record, SUPERBLOOM. The way Mandy Leed interacted with the audience was magical. She exuded pure joy, and the crowd was eating it up bite by bite.
No matter what genre their sound gravitates to, Misterwives always carries with them a show-stopping confidence that’s hard to argue with. Their lighthearted and playful stage presence makes for an unforgettable performance, and they left their Indianapolis fans vibrating with excitement.
