Crypto Arena (Los Angeles, CA)
11/10/23
Fresh off the release of her 23-track self-titled album, 2x Grammy winner Lauren Daigle stopped at the Crypto Arena during her “Kaleidoscope” tour this fall. The contemporary Christian-pop singer strives to bring people together through music, creating a safe space where everyone is free to be themselves at her shows. This is the exact energy that was circulating through the arena on November 10th. The 2024 Grammy nominations were announced the same day she was set to take the stage. The 2x winner and now 2x nominated artist put her absolute all into her performance. The warm colors and dance vibes of the first few songs got everyone in the audience up on their feet, grooving to the beat.
Lauren used the catwalk frequently throughout the show, dancing and waving to audience members. At the beginning of the show, she noticed a young girl standing on her chair and dancing with the biggest smile on her face. She invited the girl and her sister to join her on the stage to dance. Seeing the girls’ delightful reactions as they danced down the catwalk hand in hand with Lauren was one of the highlights of the night.
Daigle took breaks between songs, explaining the meaning behind them and the process in the studio. Her tour name was born from memories growing up of her grandma’s kaleidoscope collection, as she remembered the unique imagery that was created when looking through each one. She went on to explain that there’s a reason why each of us are on the planet and that we are each meant to be here. Throughout the show, Lauren and her team discussed ChildFund, an organization that sponsors children in need. 504 people in the crowd opened their hearts to sponsor a child after feeling moved to do so during the ChildFund talk, setting a new record high for her tour thus far. For the last song, Lauren played her hit, “You Say,” while standing on stage B in the back of the room, then moving through the crowd on the floor, never stumbling over the notes while personally greeting her fans.
The bright visuals and pops of color of this tour were absolutely stunning, illuminating the energy of the Christian-pop singer as well as her band. Lauren Daigle will continue her “Kaleidoscope” tour in 2024, having recently announced new dates all over the country.
