Elevation @ The Intersection (Grand Rapids, MI)

Making her debut in Grand Rapids, Michigan, kind-hearted Vancouver native Kaleah Lee opened for Del Water Gap on his “I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet” tour. This is her third time touring in an opening slot, previously seen with Leith Ross and Searows, before she is set to join James Vincent McMorrow in July. Before the pandemic, Lee was studying interior design and once classes switched to an online-only format, she realized her passion was in music and writing.
Lee played a mix of songs from her debut E.P., Birdwatcher, as well as a few singles and even a cover of Clairo’s “Bags.” As she’s been following this tour, she’s spent time in New York, NY and South Bend, Indiana (which received a round of boos from the Michigan audience). With just her guitar accompanying her on stage, Lee’s voice radiated beautifully throughout the intimate venue and left those in attendance in complete awe of her talents. Anyone who didn’t know Kaleah Lee before she took the stage will definitely not be forgetting her name anytime soon.
Fans rushed to the merch table after Kaleah’s set to chat, ask for autographs, and to be photographed with the soon-to-be star, only proving the impact her voice and music had on the audience. Even though her career is relatively new in the grand scheme of things, she received endless praise from Del Water Gap on stage and we predict she will continue to do the same with future audiences.
