O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (London, England)
01/31/23
On the final night of the U.K. and Europe’s YESSIE Tour, Jessie Reyez brought her all to the stage and did not disappoint her London fans. The 2,000 capacity O2 Shepherds Bush Empire venue was sold out, and hardcore fans had been waiting since 7 A.M. to secure a spot in the front row to watch the Canadian-Colombian singer perform live.
Reyez emerged onstage between two giant hands, palms facing upwards, and started her set off strong with her track “MOOD.” A mix of songs from her newest album, YESSIE, and previous albums were played. “Shutter Island” from her 2017 album, Kiddo, was followed by “BREAK ME DOWN” from her latest album, YESSIE. Fans’ bras landed at her feet – some of which she picked up and swung overhead like a lasso. Reyez finished her set with the hit song she wrote for Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa, “One Kiss,” and a rendition of the iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen that sent the crowd wild.
With 2,000 people singing the lyrics back to her, Reyez paused to listen to them in awe. Reyez is a star not shy of a big crowd – this headlining tour is following her support of Billie Eilish on her U.K. arena tour this past year. While opening for Billie, Jessie told the crowd that she hoped to one day sell out the O2 Arena herself, and after tonight’s performance, it’s clear that she is well on her way to achieving that goal.
