The second annual Innings Festival in Tampa, Florida brought a crowd of thousands to the grounds of Raymond James Stadium last weekend. The festival is an eclectic celebration of music and baseball with appearances from professional MLB players throughout the weekend. This year’s lineup offers a diverse range of acts from genres of folk and indie to rock and hip-hop. Besides the main festivities, festival-goers are encouraged to participate in a variety of baseball themed activities such as the speed pitch and batting cage.
Headlining act Imagine Dragons took to the Home Plate stage Saturday night for an unforgettable performance filled with loads of pyrotechnic effects and remarkable guitar solos. Lead singer Dan Reynolds shared intimate moments with fans along the barricade, even dedicating their performance of “Thunder” to two younger members in the audience. The beloved band had the entire crowd captivated with their powerful energy and performances of some of the most iconic songs in modern alternative music. The first day of the festival also brought performances from Pitbull, Weezer, Japanese Breakfast, Tai Veredes, and more!
There was a drastic switch in demographic from the first to second day in the audience as Dave Matthews Band took to the headlining Home Plate stage Sunday night. Sunday’s lineup drew more fans from the genres of folk and 2000s rock with artists like The Revivalists and Third Eye Blind making appearances across the stages.
For two years now, the Innings Festival in Tampa, Florida has become a way to celebrate the crossover between music and sporting events to kick off the spring training season. There is no doubt that this festival will continue to grow and draw in thousands of fans each year for an unforgettable experience.
