Some know him from his popular 2013 hit, “Take Me To Church.” Others recognize him from the viral meme of Handsome Squidward. But true, devoted fans know him as none other than Forest Daddy. And somehow, it fits. Hozier’s discography makes you want to leave everything behind and move off grid to a lush green forest, spending your days laying at the river. His “Unreal Unearth” tour was no different.
After a beautiful opening set from Madison Cunningham, Hozier took the stage back-lit by a starry night sky projection for the most dreamy performance of “De Selby.” Throughout the night, he performed hits like “Eat Your Young,” “Jackie,” and, my all-time favorite, “Cherry Wine.”
The “Unreal Unearth” tour closes out this Saturday in Los Angeles, California, but with the gorgeous fall season among us, I have no doubt Hozier’s songs will continue to be played just as frequently by those who desire to channel their inner Forest Daddy.
