Alternative artist grandson brought his “I Love You, I’m Trying” tour to Richmond, Virginia, for a captivating performance and a high energy night. His second full-length album, I Love You, I’m Trying, was released just a few weeks ago on Fueled By Ramen Records.
grandson completely took over the venue from the beginning of his set, and kept the crowd moving nonstop. With most of his songs having rock-influenced catchy instrumentals, paired with his fast lyrics, it was impossible to not dance along with him. His genre-bending style is incredibly unique, and many of his songs speak on mental health difficulties, which resonates with so many. He brought out the first supporting artist of the show, DE’WAYNE, to perform “When the Bomb Goes” and the second supporting artist, K.Flay, to perform two lovely duets before he made his way into the middle of the crowd to perform “Heather.”
The show was wrapped up with an encore featuring grandson’s most viral song by far, with over half a billion streams on Spotify alone, “Blood // Water,” from his 2018 E.P., a modern tragedy vol. 1. grandson’s performance was truly one of a kind!
