Faye Webster: Underdressed at the Symphony

Royal Oak Music Theatre (Royal Oak, MI)
07/30/24

Before she made her appearance at a slew of festivals across North America, Faye Webster brought her “Underdressed at the Symphony” tour to the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan on July 30, 2024. With special guest and support from the band Julie, the sold-out crowd was packed in very shortly after doors opened in order to grab the best seat for their favorite indie artist.

While Webster herself was not the most talkative, the audience carried her set by singing every word to every song right back to the Atlanta-native. Her setlist included eight tracks from her latest album, Underdressed at the Symphony, but she made sure to work in fan favorites from her other albums and E.P.s like “In A Good Way,” “Kingston,” and “Right Sick of My Neck.” Surrounded by a laundromat-esque setting, Webster marched around the stage, interacting with her bandmates, absolutely shredding on the guitar, and stopping periodically at the mic stand to belt her lyrics to a crowd in awe.

With the success of her album and after selling out many venues, Webster expanded her “Underdressed at the Symphony” tour to include even more dates across the United States and Canada. She’ll pick back up with live shows in early September and make her way across new cities in North America through October. Miya Folick and Mei Ehara have been added as support for select dates. Webster truly creates a full experience within her live shows and pays attention to the smallest of details to fully round out the theatrics of it all.
