Knockdown Center (Queens, NY)

Emo rock band Citizen kicked off a run of sold-out shows in Queens, New York at the Knockdown Center, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their debut album, Youth. The “Decade of Youth” tour is stopping in a select few major cities: New York, Boston, two nights in Chicago, Austin, and finishing off with two nights in Los Angeles. Youth contains some of the band’s most beloved songs, and a handful of them that the band hasn’t performed live on recent tours.
With flower boxes on the edge of the stage, and flowers covering the drumset and equipment on stage, Citizen began to perform Youth in its entirety. The emotional aggressive rock took over the room, full of fans singing along to their favorite songs. The 10 incredible songs being performed in order, with flowers matching the colors of the cover of Youth, created a beautiful scene on stage, giving the iconic album a beautiful and well-deserved moment.
After wrapping up the 10 songs, Citizen returned to the stage to perform a 4-song encore, to treat fans with songs outside of Youth as well, and even an unreleased song that we can’t wait to hear on streaming platforms soon. Whether you’ve been listening to Citizen since the release of Youth, or you’re a fan of their more recent releases, be sure to catch the band at one of their upcoming “Decade of Youth” shows!
