Cafuné: supporting Luke Hemmings

Royal Oak Music Theatre (Royal Oak, MI)

From a Masterclass session with Pharrell Williams to opening for Luke Hemmings on the U.S. leg of his “Nostalgia For A Time That Never Existed” tour, Cafuné is rising through the ranks and gaining fans along the way. You might know them from their 2021 hit, “Tek It,” that went viral on TikTok, but Cafuné goes way back.

Sedona Schat was drawn to music from a young age and was known for her local performances in her hometown. Noah Yoo grew up playing violin and guitar before meeting Schat at NYU and bonding over their love for Two Door Cinema Club. Their long-time connection to one another and to the music was easy to see on stage. Their eight-song set featured tracks from their 2023 E.P., Love Songs for the End, and their 2021 debut album, Running.

Cafuné was a perfect opening choice for this tour as their diverse discography and song choices perfectly matched the sound of both Luke Hemmings’ solo music and that of his band, 5 Seconds of Summer. With a sold-out crowd before them, Cafuné gave their hearts to the audience of the Royal Oak Music Theatre and left a buzzing excitement amongst them as the duo exited the stage. Opening sets may soon be a thing of the past for Cafuné as they continue to grow their dedicated fanbase and catch the attention of music lovers everywhere.

Their current live shows end June 6th with the conclusion of the “Nostalgia For A Time That Never Existed” tour, but Cafuné has been teasing that new music is on the horizon. With how quick social media moves these days, this duo is one trending song away from becoming a household name.
