At just 21 years old and less than two years after his debut single being released, Arden Jones performed a show just outside of his hometown in an absolutely packed venue. Arden grew up around performers - from family members to the concerts and festivals he attended around San Francisco - and he always knew that he wanted to be a musician.
At the top of this year, Arden released his first 3-song project entitled age tape 1 and began to release subsequent 3-song projects on the first Thursday of each month. Yes, that means that fans got 3 brand new songs monthly, each telling a story from Arden’s life. Each song fits together in a certain way, whether it tells a story from beginning to end, or simply a group of songs he wrote with fellow co-writers. With age tapes 1-9 out now, Arden has kept listeners invested in his progress and is carving out his own path with an incredibly unique release process.
Just a few days before Arden’s opening show for Chelsea Cutler in Oakland, he released age tape 0 - a collection of 5 defining songs from previous age tapes plus 5 brand new songs to complete his debut project. During his set, he told the crowd that he initially had found Chelsea Cutler on TikTok years ago, and “immediately knew that she would be the next big thing” - so, we’d trust him.
