The Intersection (Grand Rapids, MI)
05/20/23
Pop-rock singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness took the stage at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI to a sold-out crowd. Filled with fans of all ages, McMahon began the show from the middle of the GA floor and slowly worked his way to the stage, shaking hands along the way and even stopping for a few selfies. The energy in the room was controlled by McMahon, as he took over the stage, singing on top of his piano, even jumping into the pit to sing with a younger fan who was lucky enough to have a front row seat.
McMahon delivered every song with love, passion, and acceptance. He paused a few points during the show to remind the crowd to leave all their problems outside the walls of the Grand Rapids venue and enjoy the moment they were able to share together. Even though McMahon sat at his piano for a good portion of the show, his storytelling, emotion, and overall stage presence portrayed a show that was worth remembering.
Supported by The Unlikely Candidates and Griffin William Sherry, The Intersection was filled from the moment doors opened until the end of McMahon’s hour and forty-five minute set. Each minute that passed only further proved that McMahon gave 110% of his effort.
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness continues their tour through July, with festival appearances in August and October. If he and his crew are making a stop in your city, I recommend you stop in for the night – you won’t regret it!
